This past weekend I headed to the Detroit area to catch the Spencer Bell Legacy shows. You all know I like 100 Monkeys but I had decided I wouldn’t listen to songs from several of the other artists in advance. Thought it would be nice to go into it not knowing about some of the bands and their types of music, and I was in for a nice surprise when Evro hit the stage. Evro is an unsigned band out of Philadelphia, fronted by Janelle Korkus on vocals. The guitarist, Matt Gordon, does a good job on the ax, but it’s Janelle on vocals that makes the band stand out. Her vocals reminded me of Lzzy Hale from Halestorm. That’s a compliment in my book. Janelle possesses a strong, beautiful voice but knows how to rock out when it’s needed and she also has a strong stage presence.
I’d definitely suggest you check Evro out if you like rock music and/or female vocalists. You can visit their band website, HERE. Their CD, “Evro” is available on iTunes. “Inside” was the standout song for me – a catchy rocker that was a nice addition to my iPod.
Here are some photos of Evro from Saturday at SBL. These are exclusive to Entertainment Alley.
