Off the Reservation on ‘The Killing’ Tonight

Happy Mother’s Day, dear friends! And, for this lovely holiday what should we talk about? How about the worst TV mom currently on the small-screen? Let’s be honest, the lovely ladies of The Killing HAVE to be the Top 2, right? Ol’ Mitch lost one child and then took off, neglecting the two small children she still has. Way to go, Mitch! But, let’s be honest, our dedicated to the extreme Detective Linden probably has her beat. Don’t you think? I mean, at least Mitch knows she left her children with their father and aunt, and knows that the boys will be taken care of. What about Linden? She leaves her son alone for hours at a time, with only fast food and mostly vending machine food, even when he was sick. She is so angry about the fact that his father left HER when Jack was little, that she refuses to let his FATHER help her with Jack now – when he WANTS to help. She would rather leave her son alone for hours than give the father a chance to prove he is a responsible parent, even though she clearly is not a responsible parent. That is honestly the hardest part of watching The Killing. Which mother do you think is being the most irresponsible and neglectful, Mitch or Detective Linden?

Last week, after dropping Holder off at the reservation, Linden went to snoop around where Rosie Larsen had filmed some of her home movie. The head honcho at the reservation came with her cronies to threaten the detective. Meanwhile, Holder had gone into the casino to snoop around and find out where construction could have been going on, since they now believe Rosie had been near a construction site before her death. Holder caught the attention of a male “escort” and led him onto until he got the information about where the construction was taking place. He walked away after he found out that it was the 10th floor. The elevator would only go to 9, and after taking the stairs he found out the doors were locked to the 10 floor. When he got back in the elevator a maid who had seen him earlier, handed him a matchbook with a logo and a message inside – 11 tomorrow. When Holder got to the bottom floor, the reservation police grabbed him and took him to the woods where the head honcho had been. She then had them all gang up on Holder and they kicked and beat him until blood was pouring from his nose and mouth, all while she had Linden on the phone to hear it – right after she had taken Jack and ran from Child Protective Services.

Big Feet on Tonight’s New ‘Grimm’

Grimm - Season 1 - Promo - Cast

New 'Grimm' Tonight on NBC

Geez, I’m going to have a little more time on my hands after the next couple of weeks. Seems that most of the series I enjoy are having their season finales either this week or the next. Grimm is no exception. Next week the fantastic fairy tale-inspired series will take a bow for its first season. But, not to worry, NBC has already announced that their freshman series will be graduating to sophomore – it will be back for a second season. That’s good news, because the series has been all sorts of fun during its first round. Honestly, the awkward relationship between Nick and Monroe alone is worth a watch!

Last week on Grimm, a man witnessed a murder at a construction site. It was a guy from the building commission named Sal who killed the owner of a construction company, who wasn’t into paying extra fees to get his bridge plans approved. The man who witnessed the murder was the same species of creature as the murder victim, and after calling 911, the beaver-like creature promptly went into hiding at a friend’s house.

Meanwhile, after Nick and Hank went to question Sal, the building commission guy and murderer. Nick saw that he was a creature and he became suspicious of him. The man used two of his employees as his alibi, but they were also creatures. Nick went to the plumber, Bud, who is also the beaver-like creature, for help. He asked Bud to help him talk the witness into testifying. He learned from Bud and his friends that Sal was a troll like creature and they, like in the fairy tales, are really into hoarding bridges.

Unfortunately, after realizing that Nick was a Grimm, Sal decided to call the Reapers. They dispatched the Reaper that Renard had cut the ear off, and a second one to take care of business. Upon arrival, they promptly tortured Sal a bit to see if he was for real. After a meeting was called by the beaver-like creatures, Nick tried to talk them into outing the witness so they could send Sal to jail, but they voted against that. But, the witness heard his friends talking later and decided he had to testify anyhow. After giving his statement, Bud and his friend saw they were being followed. The two Reapers showed up and Nick made short work of them with the weapons he had practiced on with Monroe. The two decided to send a little message, and the head Reaper got a package in the mail with his two Reaper’s heads in there.

Juliet had also invited Monroe over as a thanks for saving her life. Nick reluctantly agreed. They planned a story in case she asked how they met. Monroe told Nick they should base it in reality. Good thinking, but when the question came up at dinner the two were stumbling all through their story. For a vet, is she that dumb? I mean, they were clearly hiding something! Later, after the case was over Nick arrived to find Juliette confused and saying, “there are so MANY!” – and he walked in to find that Bud and his pals had bestowed a ton of goodies and various blankets, apples and THINGS to them. When Juliette asked Nick, “but, WHY?,” he could only say, “I was just doing my job.”

On tonight’s Grimm, “Big Feet,” after Juliette stumbles upon a brutal murder, Nick learns the suspected creature, and friend of Monroe, is suffering from a mysterious condition – the inability to completely return to human form. This mysterious condition leads them to a therapist who’s created an artificial drug to suppress the creature side, with horrifying side effects. Meanwhile, the investigation takes a surprising turn when Hank sees something he can’t quite explain.
